Hey Warriors! I know it has been a long time since I wrote on here, but life has been a wild road since I started the podcast. Warrior Within Christian Manhood Podcast has grown and even has a Discord to help men network and connect with other men facing the journey of life. If you want to be a part of it join the Facebook group or email me at warriorwithin.christianmanhood@gmail.com Now down to business, Why God? is one phrase we hear a lot when life gets hard. We forget all that we learn from the Bible and point to God, where were you when [insert situation]. We often start leaning towards saying to others how God feels so far away and nothing I do works. Sometimes it is the mindset of how we see God, and the only way to see God is to know God. How can we know God? Simple words are, spend time in God's word, I know I know, that seems so cliché' but do you do it? If you love some one what do we do? We spend a lot of time learning and knowing that person. We get letters from them, we do not read it once... no we will read it over and over again. Do we see God as one we want to know or do we see Him as the educator in a classroom? We tend to lean that God is only wanting to discipline us, you... keep us in line. We believe all that matters to Him is whether we are good or bad. Well the truth is, well yeah He does care because where does sin lead? Sin = Death. His son, Jesus died to save us from eternal death separated from God. He longs for us to live a life holy and righteous, obedient to His word, and much more. All for His will for you and me. Why then do we question Him when things get tough? When we know how much He loves us, it changes our perspective of God, our father. God also wants us to be Holy, living a life righteously and not of the world. When we get into troubles, trials, and hardships we tend to either head towards God or towards a worldly answer. Life is never promised to be an avoidance to the curse of humanity and sin just because we love Jesus. Psalm 23:1-4 1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. 3 He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake. 4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. God has never left us nor forsaken us, and when He feels far... He is not. When we say we read and pray, and yet feel distant... it is not God. We put ourselves in a position where when things seem good, we do not need Him; and when things seem so hard we push Him away. Just because we feel He is distant, His Scriptures state something differently, the opposite. David speaks above about God as the Shepherd and his comfort to that. Through what? The Valley of Death- it does not say that He (God) will remove us from the valley, we walk through and He is with us. He will always provide, he will give us what we need when we need it, and He will take care of us. What we do wrong is we create expectations of what all that looks like. The problem is... what does the Bible say, what were we taught about? If you are not spending time in His word, how will you know? Many blogs and articles give you a list of verses, well, my hope is that this will encourage you to actually go into God's Word to learn more about Him so that you learn and know Him. The issues with the list of verses is sometimes they take it out of context, and you need to be careful because we sometimes want to create a meaning for our purpose blogs or articles and pluck a verse that fits. My challenge to you is to invest time in the Bible so you can grow into understanding God.
