My nickname is Dido. This ministry came to me as I was a Youth Pastor at a church in Connecticut. As I trained youth, I discovered how many men also felt inadequate about their manhood, and in return young men had no models to follow. There was a battle going on for men and church leadership that only can be seen if you pay attention. Men are being confused about what it means to be a man. Whether they watch movies and TV shows, listen to the culture and media, or see bad examples from men they live with or hang out with throughout their lives.
I had been dealing with youth since I was 22, and I learned that God not only wanted me a part of ministry, but He wanted me t
o be in ministry. I was brought up by a good Christian family w
here both my parents were brought up by abusive dads and lived in the city. They chose to leave the city to bring up their kids in an environment that was not like the culture they left. I accepted Jesus as Savior at age 9, but that was only the beginning of the journey God needed me to go through to get to this point.
I went to Christian schools since I was in 5th grade, I went to Christian and secular colleges, and found my wonderful wife at age 25. I focused on being in full-time work while helping with ministry at a church in CO. Eventually I went back to college and went for my BA in Christian Ministry, and later I got my MFA in Creative Writing and Media. I did not know where I am today that all my education would come together, but here I am. The journey had its ups and downs, but I continue to trust God for the rest of the journey ahead.
